Changes at Fernlea House

Tuesday, 15 June 2010

Fernlea House, Cardenden.

Fernlea House was the only one of Kingdom Homes care homes which still retained a smoking room for residents. As of 31st May however this concession to smokers has disappeared in line with company policy. This decision was made for the health and well being of all residents, employees and visitors to the homes.

A shelter with seating has been erected in the garden as an alternative. For the small number of smokers who live in the home a notice period of four weeks was provided. The smoking room will now be utilised as a quiet lounge and the former quiet lounge turned into a multi purpose room.
