Mary's well deserved retirement from Fernlea

Sam presents Mary with her retirement gift.

Mary Fernie, one of the cooks at Fernlea, has finally decided to hang up her apron and start her well earned retirement. Mary worked for the previous owners of Camilla House in Auchtertool. When that home was purchased by Kingdom Homes in 2006 she continued to work there for a time before transferring to Fernlea House.

Mary is looking forward to her retirement and has many plans to occupy her time. She has grandchildren who will keep her busy and she intends to spend more time pottering around the garden. She is also looking forward to the opportunity for more leisurely walks with the dog.

Sam Boyd, Manager at Fernlea, presented Mary with necklace on behalf of Kingdom Homes and not one but two cakes were presented to Mary and shared with residents at a retirement party held in the home on Monday 31st May.

All the staff gathered to wish Mary "All the Best" on her retirement. Mary assured everyone that she will keep in touch and will visit Fernlea House to see the many friends she has amongst the residents and staff.
